look into the past
a long, long time ago, before television and the internet and the epic struggle between edward cullen and jacob black, there were only a few major civilizations on little old earth. one of these civilizations belonged to the ancient greeks. they were interesting little fellows, always starting wars between their little city-states and consistently killing each other. however, they were also pretty smart - remember plato? - and pretty dedicated to their religion. the ancient greeks worshipped a pantheon of twelve gods and goddesses, among other deities, each of whom was a patron to a different aspect of life - for instance, athena was the goddess of warriors, wisdom, and olives, whereas poseidon was the god of the sea and horses. you get the picture. even thought this type of thing is brushed aside as pagan worship nowadays, it was a pretty decent system and the stories - or myths - are pretty fun to read and bring into a modern context.
the oracle will tell you the future
so this is where it gets fun. in this game, we take the greek gods, goddesses, and minor deities, and stick them into the modern world. for example, the moirae, or fates, are seamstresses and clothing designers. hermes is a bike messenger. aphrodite is an agent for a modeling agency. you get the picture. there's something about them in this life that is reminiscent of the deity they're based on. they clash as they would on mount olympus and of course there's tons of hanky-panky (come on, zeus and poseidon had, like, thirty kids each!) to spice things up. check out the links below and pick a mythical figure to bring into our game!
